I dont like it

Its not very good its boring . Its just flash cards I could easily buy that at the dollar store .Its a waste of money and time. -From a kid

Keypad

Would be nice to be able to configure the key pad in different formats. A straight number line would be a good option.

Terrible waste of money

I only got this because my sons teacher suggested it, but, Im going to mention to her to no longer recommend - the sound doesnt work on an iPad, its very very basic and WAY overpriced

Non profit support

A lot of people complaining about supporting a non-profit. App seems to be the same as the free website but happy to pay for the option to have it in app form which is easier for my kid to access than a bookmark in safari.

tests input speed not math skills - junk - do not buy

The race the teacher is a test of input speed and proficiency with a keypad more than knowledge of correct answers, with simple math drill questions, nothing very challenging. The keypad layout is upside down from standard convention, and sometimes doesnt recognize presses, contributing to accidental wrong answers which are penalized with a total reset of the score on the session. It puts up repetitive math speed tests as a gate to (maybe) more interesting work. It has an animated goofball pictured on the screen offering meaningless platitudes. If you accidentally press the wrong number, or didnt push the right keys fast enough, the counter of correct answers resets to zero, invalidating all of your previous work. Waste of time. This supplemental math program is very stressful and not teaching my kid anything at all right now. This is bad software. Maybe it gets better past the first stress gate, but i wouldnt bet on it.

Ms

I liked the program, my daughter’s teacher used it to help their basic math proficiency last year. It starts with giving the student a visual / preview of the equations they will be tested on. Then it goes to the practice section where they have 3 seconds to input the answer another 3-4 seconds to enter the answer correctly, then it gives the answer so the student may enter it themselves. Once they have finished this section it moves on to the Test. The Test may have as few as 4 equations or as many as 20. As the student progresses through each set they are given a percentage on their progress. Other features I liked were the weekly progress update sent to my email, how I could look at the practice sections she worked on and see which ones she got right or wrong (so I could test her myself), see the tests amongst other things. My daughter did find the app frustrating. She did not like the positive prompts, she found them to be condecending. Depending on the device she used, she would have trouble entering in the answer in the time allotted, which could end up effecting her percentage. When I asked her teacher about the timing for the answers, I was told these were the foundations to math and would help the children answer current and future math problems more quickly. Unfortunately, I believe this caused more feelings of inadequacy leading to her frustration then the app or teacher intended. As much as I would have liked to have given the app 4-5 stars I am taking into account my daughter review, which was a 1 star, to come up with the 3 star rating.

Wont submit my review! Very Sneaky, its a Horrible rip off! Read

We should be able to share on multiple devices and since were paying $5 for and app that is the same as the FREE WEBSITE! We should get a little extra out of the app! Like many of the other reviews it was recommended by my sons school! I also learned after the fact, like many others, that it says family sharing but you can not download it on multiple devices!? Which we already paid $5 for! And its free to use the website! ALSO THEY WEBSITE AND APP ARE THEY SAME! So Im sure the teachers may not know and recommend the app because they think its free! Why would we pay to have the app if the website is the same and its free! Both of my sons are recommended to use it by the same school and I wanted to download it on multiple devices that way the wouldnt have to wait, and rush, and they both get there studying done earlier!

Sound still does not work on iPad

Saw a review from Aug 30th that sound does not work on iPad. Well, it still does not work. Have not tried the app itself yet.

Very very bad

Not working at all... Waste of money

No operation swap...why not?

Got the app for a first grader. He is still working to master addition while school is teaching subtraction. Why does the app have no method to swap between operations? Otherwise, good feedback during practice helps this app be a good learning tool.

Love it!

I am in 5th grade and I love it ! It is great math practice! I have been getting so much better!

Stinks on ice

This app is not good at all it doesnt let me download it and it is so slow,it needs wi-fi so I cant do it at my farm and when I HAVE wi-fi t doesnt work

Terrible app-not worth the $5

Do not purchase this app. Not user friendly. Calculator buttons are so small its very hard to hit the right one for an adult let alone a 1st grader. Unclear how to proceed from placement quiz to next step. Maybe better on a tablet.

Bad app

No sound. Bad app. Need it to guide student.

Excellent app - Never Had Problems!

Parents looking for an iOS experience with this site would do well to use this app. My daughter has an easier time entering numbers using the app than she does on the website. Previous reviews are completely inaccurate according to my experience. There are no sounds in this app because it isn’t a sound-based program. This is an iOS version of a site that helps kids solidify math facts. If you’re looking for a cuter, more fun program, there are many available. This is specifically for folks looking for the same experience found on the xtramath website.

Learner!

I love this app for my child its effective and I let him practice for 25 minutes a day with this its fun to learn and helpful! Thanks love it❤️

Numeric keypad

Id suggest having the numeric keypad match that of a keyboard. Having the top row start with 123 instead of 789

5$

Fine but you can go to crew math.con for free

Good problems, bad tech

Have not been able to get the sound to work on our iPad. I paid $5 for this app and the sound doesnt even work?! There are better math apps that work great that are FREE. Not impressed.

I think

Its the worst thing ever
